King Size Scrap Quilt – some assembly required

DSC_8854

Before I started the “Circular Infinity” quilt I had put together several stacks of improv crazy pieced scrap blocks. I have enough for a King Size Quilt.

Just laying around

013

I have plenty of piecework to make a king size quilt, drop included. This project was sort of started in 2010. My largest U.F.Q. “Scrap Infinity”.

A clean work space

Photo of some early piece work that I started before I came to walk the MICRO path. (circa 2010)

Needless to say, this is not the current status of my cutting table.

Scraps beget scraps, and I shall never run out of fabric.

Small beginnings

013When I first started quilting I ordered a swatch sample from Keepsake Quilting. If I remember correctly, the swatches were cut at 2″ x 2.5″.

I absolutely adore postage stamp 1 inch squares.

A bit undone

002This desert nightscape is my oldest UFQ.

I began the project and got to this point without stop. When I began adding some cacti I found that satin stitching was extremely difficult. I did not, at the time, know anything about stabilizer.
